The Uniform Plumbing Code (UPC) is a model code developed by the International Association of Plumbing and Mechanical Officials (IAPMO® ) to govern the installation and inspection of plumbing systems as a means of promoting the public’s health, safety and welfare. IAPMO R&T is North America’s premier plumbing and mechanical product certification agency.
HAP System pipe support hangers and hooks were tested according to the IAPMO PS 95-2018 test standard. This standard covers pipe support hangers and hooks intended for use in plumbing supply and drain waste vent systems and specifies requirements for materials, physical characteristics, performance testing and markings. This standard applies to hangers used solely as supporting and/or suspending devices.
The rigorous certification testing included 500V dielectric testing, extreme temperature testing (190 deg F for 24 hours), weight loading and misuse-abuse testing with a nail gun.
HAP System products can proudly display the cUPC® marking which signifies that the pipe brackets meets the American and Canadian national standards of the Uniform Plumbing Code. These codes are designed to provide consumers with safe and sanitary plumbing systems. Commercial construction projects, as well as many residential construction projects, normally require specified products to be certified.
